Juliana Romano occupies the studio adjacent to Workspace, and she is thus intimately involved in the space. Juliana was raised in Los Angeles and she received an MFA in painting from UCLA in 2008. Her paintings mine the collective unconscious and serve up images both familiar and mysterious. Often appropriating images from the contemporary media, her subjects navigate a world which is seductive but seems to be in a constant state of becoming more abstract and unknowable.
