Screening and discussion, 8 pm

Workspace is proud to present a free screening of Luis Buñuel’s 1977 masterpiece That Obscure Object of Desire hosted by artist Andy Spore. A short introduction will be given by Spore highlighting the film’s relationship to Buñuel’s long career, the source text from which the film is adapted, and several of the film’s themes, especially that of violence with close attention to the closing moments in a storefront window space much like workspace. The introduction itself is a performance at least in as much as any lecture is a performance. The film will be screened in its entirety. Refreshments will be provided.
