David Gilbert is an artist whose photographic and sculptural investigations of objects examine the intersection of melancholy, beauty, and absence. He has exhibited in North America and Europe, including shows at Klaus von Nichtssagend Gallery, Brooklyn, NY; Exile, Berlin; PlaySpace, San Francisco, CA; Goff + Rosenthal, Berlin; The Bronx Museum of Art; and Art Metropole, Montreal. He received his BFA in 2004 from Tisch School of the Arts at NYU and will (hopefully) graduate in 2011 with an MFA from UC-Riverside He is also the recipient of a 2009 Tierney Fellowship, which will culminate in a solo exhibition in New York in 2010.
