In Object, Image, Room, Wood, Etc., Cameron Crone’s first solo exhibition in Los Angeles, Crone playfully moves back and forth between the two and three-dimensional; high and low, as well as surface and volume. The work’s inability to be pinned down thematically is echoed by the disorienting visual space it creates.

The gallery will be dominated by Window Wall White Ebony, a piece utilizing images generated from scanning a piece of exotic hardwood. While the original images will reside on the gallery’s main wall, a second set, displaying a concentric square pattern removed from the originals, will form a counterpart on Workspace’s windows. The result is a multiplicity of potential viewing experiences determined by one’s position either outside or within the gallery.

Cameron Crone works and lives in Southern California. He will receive his MFA in Visual Art from UC Riverside in Spring of 2011. He has been in numerous group exhibitions in the Los Angeles area. He appears courtesy of Kaycee Olsen Gallery.
